What are the partition types?
This list attempts to list all types ever encountered. Not all are confirmed. The type bytes are listed first, followed by the descriptions. Many type bytes have been used for more than one type of filesystem, most notably 07 for both HPFS and NTFS. Types listed in bold are those typically encountered by modern Wintel compatible PC DOS, Windows, OS/2 & Linux users.
